                     Appointment of Non-Executive Director


Kiln plc today announced the appointment of David Woods as a non-executive
director of Kiln plc. David is a former Chief Executive of The Scottish
Provident Institution, Chairman of Royal Liver Assurance Limited and a Fellow of
The Institute of Actuaries. He brings to the board of Kiln plc wide experience
of financial services in general, and insurance in particular. His appointment
is with effect from 1st August 2003
