Orange Partners With MainOne to Expand Capacity in Africa

Orange (ORA.FR) said Thursday that it agreed a major investment
in West Africa submarine cable system MainOne, in order to expand
its capacity on the African continent.
The partnership with MainOne Company includes construction and
installation of two new branches and stations, adding to MainOne's
current system consisting of a 7,000-kilometer submarine cable and
landing stations in Nigeria, Ghana and Portugal, Orange said.
By mid-2019, the new stations will connect the cable to Dakar in
Senegal and Abidjan in Ivory Coast, it said.
Orange didn't disclose the invested sum.
