Greenback Plunges To More Than 2-week Low Versus South African Rand

The dollar, which closed Wednesday's New York session at 7.3043
against the South African rand, plunged to more than a 2-week low
of 7.2241 at around 11:00 am ET Thursday. Currently, the greenback
is trading at 7.2395 versus the rand.
South Africa's total industry vehicle sales continued to
increase in August.
The total vehicle sales increased 36.9% year-on-year in August,
a report by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of
South Africa or NAAMSA showed on Thursday. The new vehicle sales
totaled 46,377 units in August, larger than 33,875 vehicles sold in
the previous year.
