CHTR Charter Communications Inc New

Comcast Corp. (CMCSA) is nearing an agreement to buy certain Charter Communications Inc. (CHTR) assets in the event that Charter buys Time Warner Cable Inc. (TWC), Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

Comcast would buy Charter's New York City, North Carolina and New England cable assets under the potential deal, Bloomberg reported.

Charter's most recent offer values Time Warner Cable at $37.4 billion. TWC has rejected the bid so far.
