SonoSite Appoints Vice President of Competitive Strategy and Innovation; Respected Industry Veteran Dave Willis Returns to Sono

SonoSite, Inc. (Nasdaq:SONO), the world leader in hand-carried
ultrasound, today announced the appointment of David G. Willis as
Vice President, Competitive Strategy and Innovation. In his new
position, Mr. Willis will be a member of SonoSite's executive
committee and report to Kevin M. Goodwin, President and CEO. "I am
very pleased to welcome Dave back to SonoSite," said Mr. Goodwin.
"As one of our original employees he was instrumental in shaping
the direction and market positioning of our earlier generation
products ranging from the 180(TM) system to the TITAN(R) system.
His deep understanding of our customers' needs is based in ground
level clinical experience. In this new position, Dave will work
cross functionally with the Sales and Marketing and Product
Development organizations to optimize our technology and market
strategies. He will be a tremendous asset to us as we bring forward
major innovations that will further expand and transform the role
of ultrasound in medicine." Mr. Willis' career in ultrasound spans
over 20 years and includes both clinical and corporate experience.
He joined SonoSite in 1999 as Director of Product Marketing and was
promoted to Vice President, Product and Channel Management in 2003.
During that time he led the company's successful global launch of
the TITAN system. Most recently, Mr. Willis was Vice President of
Sales and Marketing for Ultrasonix Corp., a privately held,
diagnostic ultrasound company based in Canada where he was
responsible for establishing the company's U.S. and Canadian direct
sales organizations and a dealer distribution network in South
America. From 1989 to 1999, Mr. Willis worked at ATL Ultrasound,
now part of Philips Medical Systems, where he held positions of
increasing responsibility for clinical marketing and international
sales. Mr. Willis was also a sonographer at the Health Sciences
Center in Winnipeg, Canada. He is a registered medical sonographer
(RDMS, RDCS) and has completed the Executive Education Program at
