GSK PLC has begun shipping doses of its influenza vaccines to
U.S. health care providers and pharmacies ahead of the upcoming flu
season, and the company said Monday that it expects to distribute
over 50 million doses.
The distribution of GSK's quadrivalent influenza vaccine
immediately follows a licensing and lot-release approval from the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Center for Biologics Evaluation
and Research, GSK said.
Both FluLaval Quadrivalent and Fluarix Quadrivalent vaccines
will be available to patients six months and older, in line with
recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, the company said.
GSK shares edged 0.8% higher to $17.69 Monday, up 10% for the
year.
