NEW YORK--A shooting at a Home Depot store in Manhattan's
Flatiron District left two employees dead Sunday afternoon in what
police said was a murder-suicide.
A 31-year-old employee from Brooklyn who wasn't scheduled to
work Sunday walked into the store at about 2:45 p.m. and shot the
store manager in the abdomen and chest with a .38-caliber revolver,
authorities said.
The gunman was found dead in an aisle of the store after
apparently killing himself, police said.
The manager, a 38-year-old man from the Bronx, died at a
hospital shortly after the shooting, according to police.
The shooting didn't follow any apparent dispute between the
workers, police said.
