Target Corp. said Thursday it would be "hiring extensively" this
holiday season, and is planning to dedicate more resources to
contactless services and safety.
The retailer said its seasonal team members will receive a $15
minimum starting wage and have free access to health care through
virtual doctor visits through the end of the year.
Target also said it would double the number of workers dedicated
to contactless services, including drive-up and order pickup. The
company's distribution centers are expected to hire more seasonal
workers than last year, Target said.
Existing team members can work additional hours in their current
roles and have the option to train for other roles, the company
said.
"Knowing that the holiday season will be unlike any other, we're
building in even more flexibility to make sure Target remains a
safe and convenient place to work and shop," said Melissa Kremer,
Target's human resources officer.
