ABERDEEN LATIN AMERICAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC
RESULT OF EGM AND BOARD CHANGES
The Board of Aberdeen Latin American Investment Trust PLC (the "Company") is
pleased to announce that, at the extraordinary general meeting held today,
shareholders overwhelmingly voted in favour of the Continuation Resolutions and,
at the warrantholders meeting also held today, a substantial majority of
warrantholders voted in favour of reducing the subscription price of the
warrants from 100p to 85p. As a result, the Company will now change its
investment objective to providing capital growth and income from a portfolio of
mining and resource equities and of mining, resource and industrial fixed
interest securities, and its manager to Midas Capital Partners Limited
("Midas"). In line with these changes the Company has changed its name to City
Natural Resources High Yield Trust plc.
As a result of these changes, Radhika Ajmera, Christopher Edge and Christopher
Little have all resigned as non-executive directors of the Company with
immediate effect, and Adam Cooke and Michael Coulson have been appointed as
non-executive directors. There is no information which is required to be
disclosed by either Adam Cooke or Michael Coulson pursuant to paragraph 6.F.2
(b) - (g) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority and neither has held
a directorship in any other publicly quoted company at any time in the previous
five years.
As stated in the circular dispatched to shareholders and warrantholders on 3
June 2003, Midas expects to have completed the transition to a new portfolio
consistent with the revised objective by the end of July 2003.
Intelli Corporate Finance Limited has been appointed financial adviser to the
Company.
