DNA deployed Android TV set-top box is powered by Amino Move
platform
Amino Technologies plc (LSE AIM: AMO), the global provider of
digital TV entertainment and cloud solutions to network operators,
announces that it is now providing Finland-based operator DNA with
both mobile and set-top box service delivery for its multiscreen
TV.
DNA has further expanded its TV service with Amino's MOVE cloud
TV platform to support its recent launch of TV-hubi - its new
Android TV 4K UHD device - in the home. This provides customers
with access to a range of services including all Finnish channels
and a wide range of PayTV content, VoD and Network PVR. Other
third-party apps like YouTube(TM) , Deezer and Netflix are
available from the Google Play(TM) app store.
Amino has been working with DNA since 2010 in building its
multiscreen TV service, which has been steadily growing in richness
of the content and functionality as well as popularity in line with
booming consumption of mobile data in the country.
Now, MOVE also supports the delivery of TV to the home. In
addition to developing new TV-hubi interface, Amino has integrated
DNA operated Verimatrix DRM to their Amino MOVE platform. Live TV
streams to DNA TV-hubi come from DNA platform. In combination, all
these services are now enjoyed by the user with the same user
experience across all devices. Previously Amino has deployed its
e2e platform, including NPVR, transcode and web services
particularly to DNA's mobile TVE offering.
DNA's VP of Entertainment Business Jarno Haikonen said: "We want
to offer our customers a TV service which makes it easy to move
between different types of content from one screen to another with
a unified user experience. With the help of our latest product
launch, DNA TV-hubi with DNA TV application, developed by Amino, we
are able to sell our pay TV services to all Finnish people either
through cable, terrestrial or IPTV."
DNA began sales of DNA TV-hubi this summer.
Amino CEO Donald McGarva said: "DNA are a much-valued long term
customer of ours and we have worked very closely with them to
transition the capabilities of our MOVE platform to provide both
mobile and now fixed line TV service delivery.
"This effectively streamlines their operations into one seamless
platform and also showcases our strong systems integration and UX
development skills in aligning a number of partners and creating a
compelling new user Android TV experience for their customers."
Amino's MOVE cloud TV platform is deployed by a number of
operators and provides a high performance, scalable and secure
solution for operators seeking to deploy entertainment services to
any screen, anywhere, anytime.
