LONDON--Shares in Immedia Group PLC (IME.LN) jumped 50% after
the U.K. audio content provider run by former disc jockey Bruno
Brookes said it would provide a radio service for employees of
telecommunications company BT Group PLC (BT.A.LN).
The company didn't give financial details but said the radio
service would be made available to the 33,000 employees of BT's
infrastructure maintenance division OpenReach through
dashboard-mounted mobile devices and in canteens and offices.
"With its boundless reach, I believe the platform we have
created has enormous potential to deliver simple solutions to many
global businesses," said Mr. Brookes, Immedia's chief Executive,
who launched the company in 2001 following a career at BBC Radio 1,
where he was one of the U.K.'s best-known disc jockeys.
Immedia also provides in-store radio stations for clients such
as HSBC Holdings PLC (HSBA.LN) and the retailer Spar.
At 1021 GMT, shares were up 9 pence, or 50%, at 24 pence,
valuing the company at GBP3.5 million ($5.2 million).
