The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry has decided, on the information
at present before her, and in accordance with the recommendation of the Director
General of Fair Trading, not to refer the following merger  to the Monopolies
and Mergers Commission under the provisions of the Fair Trading Act 1973:

Proposed acquisition of Yorkshire Tyne Tees Television by Granada Group Plc

Proposed acquisition by Abbey National plc of Cater Allen Holdings plc

Proposed acquisition by Wardle Storeys of the Dunlop Beaufort Division
of BTR plc
