      Additional placing of 1,020,283 "C" Ordinary Shares
                               

Close Brothers VCT announces that an additional 1,020,283 "C"
Ordinary Shares have been placed with private investors at
100p per Share.

Dealings in those shares, which will not rank for the interim
dividend for the six months to 30 September 1997, will
commence on 2nd July, 1997.

After taking into account the #24 million raised in 1996, and
#14.5 million raised under the "C" Share Offers for
Subscription, which closed on 30 May 1997, a total of #39.5
millon has now been raised since the launch of Close Brothers
VCT in February, 1996.
