LONDON--U.S. onshore oil and gas company Empyrean Energy PLC
(EME.LN) said Thursday oil production from its flagship Sugarloaf
AMI project in Texas, U.S. continued to rise in the fourth quarter
last year compared with the previous quarter.
Empyrean said its share of Sugarloaf's output before royalties
and costs was 166,572 barrels of oil equivalent for the three
months ended Dec 31. 2014, up 39% compared with the previous
quarter. Meanwhile, its share of the field's output after royalties
and costs was 111,921 barrels of oil equivalent up 38% compared
with the previous quarter.
Empyrean has a 3% interest in the project, which is operated by
Marathon Oil Corp (MRO).
Empyrean said there were a total of 187 gross producing wells at
Sugarloaf as of the end of December and 205 gross producing wells
including 21 in the Austin Chalk as of the end of March.
