eServGlobal announces a new connection for the HomeSend
remittance service between its strategic business partner BICS and
eSewa, the local online payment portal offered by F1 Soft in
Nepal.
F1 Soft's eSewa service is connected to more than 23 Nepalese
banks and 7 remittance hubs. eSewa facilitates payments across the
country through more than 4,000 outlets. Services include utility
bill payments, prepaid cards and bank deposits via both mobile and
the web. Through Homesend eSewa will be able to offer remittance
services in Nepal. Nepal derives 24% of national GDP from
international remittance. In 2010, Qatar sent an estimated
US$1.125Bn in remittances to Nepal. A further US$961M was received
from senders residing in India. The corridor to Nepal is expected
to go live before the end of 2011.
