                        Purchase of shares by director.


On 22 August 2003 the Company was notified that one of its directors, David
Abery, had on that date purchased 10,000 ordinary shares of 10 pence in the
Company at a price of 50 pence per share.  The total holding of Mr Abery
following this purchase is 10,000 shares, representing 0.02% of the issued share
capital of the Company (current shares in issue are 51,638,496).
