Rio Tinto to Buy Back $1.359 Billion Debt

LONDON--Rio Tinto PLC (RIO.LN) said Thursday it is buying back
$1.359 billion of debt through Rio Tinto Finance (USA) PLC.
The miner plans to buy $339 million of its 2% cent notes due
2017 at $1,006.91 per $1,000 amount of notes and $1.02 billion of
1.625% notes due 2017 at $1,005.85 per $1,000 principal amount of
notes.
The lead dealer managers are Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner &
Smith Incorporated and RBC Capital Markets, LLC. The co-dealer
managers are BMO Capital Markets Corp., CIBC World Markets Corp.,
nabSecurities, LLC and TD Securities (USA) LLC.
