Milestone - One Million Hours Without Lost Workday Injury
ARLINGTON, Texas, March 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- On March 16 at
3 a.m., National Semiconductor's manufacturing facility in

hours without experiencing a lost workday injury. The company
employs 750 people in Arlington. "We are extremely proud of our
safety efforts with the million-hour mark being our latest
achievement," said Bob Bianconi, health and safety manager for
National's Arlington facility. "We are committed to providing a
safe working environment and will continue to integrate best safety
practices into our way of doing business." "OSHA is pleased to help
celebrate such a significant safety accomplishment. Reaching a
million man hours without a lost time accident is the direct result
of employees and management being committed to a safe work place,"
said Dean Wingo, Fort Worth Area Director of the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Wingo paid the company a
visit to express his appreciation for its safety efforts during an
employee celebration. "I am proud to applaud and recognize those
efforts. I hope this is the first step towards working with OSHA to
become one of our premier partners in safety and health." Other

milestone include General Motors, Merck, General Dynamics and Tyson
Foods. National's manufacturing facility in South Portland, Maine
