SUPERSCAPE TO CO-PUBLISH NEW 3D EVEL KNIEVEL GAME FOR MOBILE PHONES
Date, Hook, Hampshire, UK: Superscape Group plc (LSE: SPS), specialists in the
development of industry standard 3D technology to deliver console quality,
over-the-air (OTA) games on mobile phones announces that it has signed an
exclusive licensing and co-publishing agreement with Global Wireless
Entertainment (GWE) for the Evel Knievel brand. Under the terms of the
agreement, Superscape will develop a new 3D game - entitled Evel-ution - which
will be published and marketed by both companies worldwide.
The game, which will be designed and developed using Superscape's Swerve 3D
technology will run on both Java and BREW-based mobile handsets and will be
launched in Q2 2004.
The 3D Evel-ution game will allow players to control Evel Knievel as he rides
through a series of obstacles and jumps, gaining points as he progresses.
Various levels are included in the game which take Evel over ramps made of cars,
buses, trucks and fountains. Players will need to use considerable skill to
control the speed and balance of Evel as they move towards the 'Main Event'
which will include the Vegas Fountain jump, the 13 Mack Truck jump and a stadium
packed with fourteen Greyhound buses in King's Island.
Kevin Roberts, CEO, Superscape Group plc said: "Evel Knievel is a name that is
known throughout the world as the world's first and still most exciting
motorcycle daredevil. Both PC and Game Boy-based games have been developed, but
our agreement with GWE will see Evel Knievel come to the small screen of mobile
phones for the very first time. Given the worldwide interest in this
personality and his spectacular exploits, I believe that the new Evel-ution game
will prove to be a great hit for gamers worldwide."
"Our goal is to provide compelling cutting edge wireless entertainment that has
global brand recognition and appeals to the broadest spectrum of mobile phone
users" said Paul Buss, President of Global Wireless Entertainment. "Superscape
has set the bar for the next generation of mobile games with their revolutionary
Swerve engine".
