US Dollar Surges Up To 16-day High Versus South African Rand

After edging down to 6.8650 as of 10:15 am ET, the US dollar
surged up against the South African rand and hit a 16-day high of
6.9942 by about 2:05 pm ET Thursday. At present, the greenback-rand
pair is trading at 6.9489, compared to yesterday's closing value of
6.9451.
