LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Feb. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Acxiom®
(Nasdaq: ACXM), the data foundation for the world's best marketers,
today recognized Sheila Colclasure,
chief privacy officer and global executive of privacy and public
policy, for being selected to participate in The Presidential
Leadership Scholars program, a unique leadership development
initiative that draws upon the resources of the presidential
centers of George W. Bush, William J. Clinton, George H.W. Bush
and Lyndon B. Johnson. Colclasure is one of 60
Scholars chosen for the program's third annual class.
This year's group was selected after a rigorous application and
review process. Scholars were selected based on their leadership
growth potential and the strength of their personal leadership
projects aimed at improving the civic or social good by addressing
a problem or need in a community, profession or organization. At
Acxiom, Colclasure participates in numerous domestic and
international efforts to help develop effective public policy,
establish industry best practices and achieve maximum harmonization
of information policy across the world.
"Sheila is a true leader and a pioneer when it comes to
advancing the conversation around data privacy and practices," said
Scott Howe, CEO and president of
Acxiom. "We are thrilled to announce her selection to this program
and would like to extend our deepest congratulations to her and all
of the 2017 Scholars. We know Sheila will gain valuable insights
through her participation that will help further her work and bring
new perspectives to our company."
Over the course of several months, Scholars will travel to each
participating presidential center to learn from former presidents,
key administration officials and leading academics. They will study
and put into practice varying approaches to leadership, develop a
network of peers and exchange ideas with mentors and others who can
help them make an impact in their communities.
"I'm honored to be named a part of this prestigious group and
look forward to the many learning and knowledge sharing
opportunities that lie ahead," Colclasure said. "As the world
becomes increasingly digital and data driven, it is important for
us to continue to develop best practices for ethical data use, and
through programs like this I hope to further the global discussion
around using data for good."
Colclasure will commence her journey in Washington, D.C., where Scholars will visit
the National Archives and Records Administration, Mount Vernon, and the White House Historical
Association and explore personal and professional development areas
including core values and civility.
The latest class joins the alumni network of 121 Scholars in the
program. They include individuals from diverse backgrounds and
geographies, coming from a variety of sectors, including private,
public, non-profit, military and academia. The full list of 2017
scholars can be viewed here.
