TD Ameritrade continues to deliver new ways for
investors to access market information anywhere, on any device
TD Ameritrade1 today announced significant upgrades to its skill
for Alexa, including access to market information and investor
education on Amazon Alexa-enabled devices, with a visual experience
on Echo Show.
Investors can now get on-demand market information, news and
events, quotes and sector information across all Alexa-enabled
devices plus more than 100 educational videos on Echo Show.
Prepared to answer hundreds of questions, the TD Ameritrade skill
for Alexa serves as an on-demand service representative, ready to
help clients navigate topics ranging from investing basics to more
complex retirement and tax season queries. In addition, Alexa is
equipped to answer questions Scottrade clients might have regarding
the transition to TD Ameritrade.
"We’ve always been committed to delivering simple, on-demand
access to the markets and investor education, and Amazon’s latest
devices give our clients one more entry point,” said Vijay
Sankaran, chief information officer for TD Ameritrade. “As
voice-driven devices become more pervasive, consumers expect that
whatever questions they ask will be answered, and financial
questions are no exception. The beauty of getting market updates
and investor education on Echo Show is that it helps make finance
more conversational and visual for investors.”
Consumers must visit the Alexa App and enable the "TD Ameritrade
skill" to set it up. Once enabled, users can verbally ask for
quotes for all major market symbols, ask for specific sector
information, or ask to learn about specific investing topics.
Answers are returned to them by their Alexa-enabled device.
“We’ve said before that we will go where our clients are,
whether that’s our own mobile app or Alexa or Messenger,” continued
Sankaran. “Our goal is to make investing as transparent and
seamless as possible, no matter what channel a client chooses to
use.”
