Starbucks Corp. will suspend all business activity in Russia, including shipment of all Starbucks products.

"We condemn the horrific attacks on Ukraine by Russia and our hearts go out to all those affected," and that "we continue to watch the tragic events unfold," Chief Executive Kevin Johnson said in a letter to partners on Tuesday.

Starbucks said its licensed partner has agreed to immediately pause store operations and will "provide support to the nearly 2,000 partners in Russia who depend on Starbucks for their livelihood."

Many U.S. companies have withdrawn from Russia after its invasion of Ukraine. On Tuesday, McDonald's Corp. said it was temporarily closing its restaurants in Russia.
