Visteon Honors Detroit Scholar with National Association of Black
Automotive Suppliers' Award VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich., April 26
/PRNewswire/ -- Jennifer C. Salis, a senior at Detroit's Davis
Aerospace Technical High School, was named Visteon Corporation's
(NYSE:VC) first Visteon Scholar at the National Association of
Black Automotive Suppliers' (NABAS) 17th Annual Scholarship Awards

Radkoski, Visteon's vice president, North American materials
management, presented the $20,000 scholarship to Salis. "We are
pleased to contribute to this year's NABAS Scholarship Fund and to
announce the first recipient of the Visteon Scholar Award," said
Radkoski. "Jennifer reflects the next generation of automotive
leaders; she is focused, creative and dedicated to pursuing
excellence." "I'm very excited about the scholarship," said Salis.
"I've always enjoyed cars and I think the automotive field would be
a great area for me to go into." Salis was selected for the award
based on her academic achievements, community involvement and high
school leadership record. She is a National Honor Society member,
has served as class president at Davis Aerospace Technical for
three years and will represent her graduating class as
valedictorian. Salis graduates in June and plans to pursue a degree
in business and marketing at Detroit's Wayne State University. "An
investment in the education of our African-American youth is an
investment in the future of the automotive industry," said Henry S.
Martin Jr., associate director, supplier diversity development for
Visteon. "Visteon is pleased to support the NABAS Scholarship Fund
in its mission to help launch the automotive careers of our youth."
The NABAS Scholarship Awards Banquet raises funds to help young
scholars and their families afford the expense of a college
education. All proceeds provide financial support for scholarships
and mentoring for outstanding African-American students who will
pursue careers in the automotive industry. This year, eight
students received scholarships and more than $200,000 was raised
for the fund nationally. NABAS, formed in 1986, serves as a vital
communication link between black- owned automotive suppliers and
automotive manufacturers. The organization facilitates a
scholarship fund, provides seminars and supports networking
opportunities for its members. NABAS has offices in Detroit and
