LAS VEGAS, Jan. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Premiering a
range of highly interactive displays, in-vehicle demonstrations and
autonomous driving simulators, Visteon Corporation (NYSE: VC) will
highlight how software, services and connectivity can improve a
vehicle's lifetime value – while enhancing the ownership and
driving experience – at the 2015 International CES from
Jan. 6-9.
"As one of the leading cockpit electronics suppliers, we are now
turning our focus to designing connectivity into our all our
products utilizing Cloud-based technology and over-the-air
connections – creating a truly connected driving experience," said
Martin T. Thall, executive vice
president and president, electronics, Visteon. "Whether on the open
road, in a garage or at a body and assembly plant, Visteon has
service offerings to unlock the value of connectivity."
Visteon's booth will be located in Central Plaza #20 at the
Las Vegas Convention Center, where
the company will debut more than 60 new displays featuring
customer- awarded and production-ready technologies, as well as
innovation concepts.
Presented for the first time at CES, Visteon's suite of
connected vehicles will demonstrate several secure over-the-air
software upgrades delivered from Visteon's connected vehicle hub
using various wireless communication methods. Each vehicle
demonstrates unique benefits for vehicle owners and automakers.
Autonomous driving simulators, based on Visteon's proprietary
consumer research on human machine interaction (HMI) preferences,
represent a vision of the evolution of autonomous driving. The
fully immersive simulators bring to life future driving scenarios
and use cases.
Also launching at CES, Visteon's latest cockpit concept,
Semper Novus (Latin for always new)
explores continuous upgrades of in-car electronics to future-proof
the driving experience by keeping pace with the evolution of mobile
devices. The concept gives automakers the opportunity to keep the
vehicle perpetually current and introduce new services so consumers
can enjoy an "always fresh" experience.
"Now in our 16th year at CES, Visteon is one of the original
automotive companies contributing to CES becoming a leading
showcase for automotive innovation," said Tim Leuliette, Visteon president and CEO. "As
one of the only electronics suppliers with an automotive original
equipment manufacturer heritage, Visteon has extensive experience
building consumer electronics solutions based on full vehicle
system knowledge, unlike many of our competitors in the connected
car space."
Speaking on the subject of "Protecting Connected Vehicles within
the Internet of Things," Visteon's Mark
Zeinstra, director of connected services, will also join SAE
International's 10th consecutive technical panel at the CES, along
with a special panel presented by the GENIVI Alliance. The event
takes place on Jan. 8, in Room N256
at the Las Vegas Convention
Center.
