information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining
sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.
Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) experienced a leak at an unnamed process
unit at its Torrance, Calif., refinery Thursday, according to a
filing with state environmental regulators.
Tesoro Corp.'s (TSO) refinery in Mandan, N.D., is operating at
reduced rates after experiencing a fire at an alkylation unit
Wednesday afternoon, but it is unclear whether this will impact
product supply, a company spokesman said. No workers were injured
and there was no offsite impact from the incident.
Citgo Petroleum Corp. said Thursday that maintenance activity at
its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery will continue to Feb. 28.
ConocoPhillips (COP) said Thursday that maintenance activity is
underway at its Rodeo, Calif., refinery, but declined to disclose
further details about the units involved or the duration of the
work.
BP PLC (BP) reported that planned flaring activity will take
place at its Carson, Calif., oil refinery on Jan. 22-27, according
to a filing with state environmental regulators Thursday.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) is delaying planned maintenance at a
hydrocracker unit located at its McKee refinery in Sunray, Texas,
to April from March, a company spokesman said Tuesday.
LyondellBasell (LYB) plans to begin maintenance activity on a
key gasoline-making unit located at its Houston, Texas, refinery
that will last through March, a company spokesman said Tuesday.
Royal Dutch Shell (RDSA, RDSA.LN) said Tuesday maintenance
activities are under way at the Deer Park, Texas, refinery, but a
company spokesman declined to provide further details.
Flint Hills Resources LP will begin work to clear dust from
sulfur recovery unit No. 3 before commissioning the new unit at the
West Plant of its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery, according to a
filing with state environmental regulators. Th work is expected to
last one day. Over the weekend, the refinery reported that sulfur
recovery unit No. 2 unexpectedly shut down. The cause of the
incident is being investigated.
Work at the fluid catalytic cracker Hovensa refinery operated by
Hess Corp. (HES) is ongoing, a spokesman for the refinery said
Thursday. He declined to say when gasoline-making unit -- shut on
Dec. 9 for repairs -- would resume operations.
