AsiaSat Expands Their EPOCH IPS System to Support AsiaSat 5 LANHAM,
Md., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Integral Systems, Inc.
(NASDAQ:ISYS) today announced that it has been awarded a contract
by AsiaSat to add operations of the AsiaSat 5 satellite (a Loral
FS1300 class satellite) to AsiaSat's existing satellite control
system. This is Integral Systems' second contract with AsiaSat and
will expand AsiaSat's EPOCH IPS (Integrated Product Suite) control
system to operate a total of four AsiaSat satellites that are made
by three different satellite manufacturers. AsiaSat's
state-of-the-art satellite control system is based on Integral
Systems' EPOCH IPS that has become the industry standard for
consolidated operations of mixed fleets of satellites. The EPOCH
IPS provides AsiaSat an easy-to-use, fully integrated,
multi-satellite control center for all four satellites of the
AsiaSat fleet. The single platform system simplifies AsiaSat's
satellite operations, and in turn reduces operating costs. EPOCH
IPS is the world's leading and most widely used satellite control
system, having been selected to support the operations of over 30
SS/L FS1300 class satellites, over 125 GEO communications
satellite, and well over 200 satellite programs in total (including
LEO and deep space missions). "We greatly appreciate AsiaSat's
business, and we are very pleased that they have elected to expand
their EPOCH system to include their newest satellite," said Stuart
Daughtridge, Executive Vice President of the Commercial Division at
Integral Systems. "AsiaSat is a world leader in satellite
operations and I am very pleased we were able to earn their repeat
business, since we believe this shows that our EPOCH IPS system and
our support deliver our customers real value. It is this repeat
business and customer satisfaction that has made EPOCH the world's
leading satellite control system," he added. "We have been using
Integral's satellite control system since 2004 and we found it a
sophisticated system that greatly enhances the efficiency and
reliability of our satellite operations. Through expanding and
upgrading our existing satellite control system to include the
operation of our new satellite AsiaSat 5, we look forward to
continually providing unparalleled satellite service to our
customers," said Peter Jackson, Chief Executive Officer of AsiaSat.
