CADCENTRE GROUP PLC
ACQUISITION FROM KVAERNER
Cadcentre Group plc ("Cadcentre"), the 3D process plant
design software specialist, has acquired for #1.7 million in
cash the full intellectual property rights to the SCOPE suite
of software products together with all existing user
contracts. This will extend Cadcentres product range into
construction management software for the process plant
industry. This transaction follows the acquisition earlier
this year of the 3D software design customer base of AEA
Technology plc.
SCOPE is being bought from the engineering and construction
division of Kvaerner ASA, one of Cadcentres largest customers
and will create an immediate stream of support revenue for
Cadcentre. Cadcentre will employ a number of the SCOPE
development staff who have been based in Sheffield.
The SCOPE suite of products is already fully compatible with
Cadcentres market leading 3D plant design software products
as well as being compatible with other leading 3D design
software. Cadcentre will market SCOPE in the UK and
internationally as part of its overall integrated suite of
software products and services.
Cadcentres Managing Director, Richard Longdon, commented :
"The acquisition of SCOPE opens a whole new market sector for
Cadcentre and is a key element in our ongoing strategy of
expanding our product portfolio to cover total project
execution and operations - going far beyond our traditional
strengths in 3D plant design and visualisation. We regard
SCOPE as a world-leader in its field and it has the potential
to be a great commercial success for Cadcentre."
