On 5th December 2001 Chloride Group PLC ("Chloride") received notification in
accordance with Sections 198-202 of the Companies Act 1985 that Deutsche Bank
AG and its subsidiary companies (together "Deutsche Bank") has a notifiable
interest in 33,337,914 Ordinary Shares of 25p each in Chloride, being 13.46%
of the issued ordinary share capital of Chloride.

The previous position notified by Deutsche Bank was on 28 November 2001, when
its interest in 31,711,856 (12.80%) Chloride ordinary shares was disclosed.
