Chloride Group PLC ("Chloride") has today received notification pursuant to Part
VI of the Companies Act 1985, that the notifiable interest in the 25p ordinary
shares ("shares") of Chloride by Barclays PLC is 7,900,478 shares, representing
3.18% of the issued share capital of Chloride.

The previous position notified by Barclays PLC was on 21 October 2004, when an
interest in 12,190,478 (4.90%) shares was disclosed.
