Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd. (S63.SG) said Friday its U.S shipyard VT Halter Marine has secured a contract from Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. (HOS) to construct eight offshore supply vessels worth about $441 million.

ST Engineering has an option to build an additional 24 offshore supply vessels for Hornbeck, it said in a filing to the Singapore Exchange.

Delivery of the first vessel is slated for October 2013 and the eighth in September 2014, it said.
