RALEIGH, N.C., Dec. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- College Choice
(http://www.collegechoice.net/), an independent college search and
rankings website, has published a ranking of the top fifty online
MBA and graduate business programs in the
United States
(http://www.collegechoice.net/rankings/top-online-mba-programs/).
The University of Illinois
Springfield, University of North
Dakota, University of
Mississippi, University of Nebraska, and the University of Alabama occupy the top five spots on
the list, which was calculated based primarily on affordability and
reputation. Most of the schools on the list are accredited by the
Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. If they are
not, they are accredited by either the Accreditation Council for
Business Schools and Programs or the International Assembly for
Collegiate Business Education. The number of courses students are
allowed to take online, residency requirements, and particular
degree names vary from school to school, but all schools on the
list allow students to take at least a portion of their graduate
business courses remotely.
Robert Hand, lead editor for the
ranking, explains College Choice's approach. "Not all aspiring
leaders in commerce have the ability to relocate to attend a
leading school for their education. Twenty years ago this would
have been a major obstacle, but online education is developing
quickly, and there are some excellent options already available to
students. Because location is by definition less of a factor in
online learning, this particular ranking is based primarily on
reputation and affordability, which we believe reflect the two main
priorities of students seeking to further their education this way.
