GM Announces Communications Personnel Moves DETROIT, Dec. 5
/PRNewswire/ -- General Motors Corp. today announced two executive
appointments within its Corporate Communications Staff. Tom
Wilkinson, currently director of Communications for Chevrolet Motor
Division, has been named director of Corporate Technology
Communications, replacing Joe Jacuzzi, who will succeed Wilkinson
at Chevrolet. Both changes are effective Jan. 1, 2004. Wilkinson
will be responsible for Communications activities supporting GM's
Design, Engineering, and Racing activities. He had been director of
Communications for Chevrolet since January 2001. Wilkinson joined
GM in 1999 as product publicity manager for Saturn Corp. From 1995
to 1998, he was a vice president and account supervisor with
DMB&B Public Relations supporting Saturn and Cadillac. He also
had 15 years of experience as an editor with Motor, Popular Science
and Modern Tire Dealer magazines. A former freelance commercial
photographer and writer, Wilkinson graduated from the College of
Wooster with a bachelor's degree in political science. He completed
course work for a master's degree in journalism at Kent State
University and attended the Leadership Development Program at the
Center for Creative Leadership. Jacuzzi will lead Chevrolet's
Communications initiatives. He had been director of Corporate
Technology Communications since July 2001. Prior to that
assignment, he was director of Lifecycle Communications/Truck;
product manager for GM Truck Group/HUMMER Communications, and
assistant director for Truck Group Communications. Jacuzzi joined
GM in 1998 as manager of Midsize/Small Truck and Van
Communications. He came to GM from Mitsubishi Motor Sales of
America in Cypress, Calif., where he had been product manager since
1991. He also had nearly three years of agency experience as an
assistant account executive with Manning Selvage & Lee and as a
coordinator with Bob Thomas & Associates, both in Southern
California. Jacuzzi graduated from the University of Southern
