FileNet Corporation (NASDAQ:FILE), the leading provider of
Enterprise Content and Business Process Management solutions, today
announced that FileNet Records Manager received U.S. Department of
Defense (DoD) 5015.2-STD Chapter 4 certification for the management
of classified records -- verifying Records Manager's ability to
control the creation, declaration, classification, retention and
destruction of electronic and non-electronic records. (Logo:

in June 2002, the DoD 5015.2-STD Chapter 4 certification helps to
ensure the security of official records and meet federal
information sharing requirements specifically for classified
information. The DoD Chapter 4 certification is required for all
records management solutions implemented by the DoD and other
federal agencies that regularly handle classified content. As a
result of the continuing shift toward increased collaboration
across government, this standard has become an integral component
of federal agencies' records management practices -- enabling
organizations to improve inter-agency collaboration without
compromising security. To earn certification, FileNet Records
Manager demonstrated that it can define and manage classification
guides and rules that define security clearance levels.
Additionally, the product proved that it can deliver specific
security reporting and auditing features, such as records access
control and user interaction tracking. "FileNet Records Manager
enables organizations to effectively address records management
challenges regardless of the complexity of the environment," said
Martyn Christian, chief marketing officer of FileNet. "Our ability
to comply with the DoD's demanding security requirements for
records management further demonstrates our continuing commitment
to delivering best-of-breed solutions that meet Federal government
customers' evolving needs." About FileNet Records Manager FileNet
