Tyler to hire from Albany’s Capital District to
add to already growing team
Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has completed the purchase
of a complex in Latham, New York, near the Albany International
Airport, as the new site for its transportation solutions
operation. Tyler’s transportation team provides the K-12 market
with transportation technology, including Versatrans®, Traversa®,
and Tyler Drive™, its newest mobile solution for school bus
drivers.
Tyler will move staff from its current Latham office in late
2017, after some extensive renovations. The updated building will
feature:
- An open design with collaborative
spaces conducive for software development
- Numerous skylights and large windows to
allow for natural lighting
- A campus-like atmosphere with four
office areas and a 10,000-square-foot conference center
- Two interior courtyards and 10-acre
wooded lot
Tyler entered the K-12 transportation market in 2008 via the
acquisition of Versatrans Solutions. Since then, the transportation
staff has nearly doubled in size, and revenues have more than
tripled, making Tyler the leading provider in this space. In the
past five years, Tyler’s Latham staff has grown 57 percent, and the
company plans to hire 15 positions for the Latham location in
2017.
“There is amazing talent in the Capital District, and we are
committed to hiring exceptional people locally,” said Ted Thien,
vice president and general manager for Tyler’s transportation
group. “The building is exactly what we needed to support our
current growth, and the renovations will create space for
approximately 175 people.”
Other Tyler office locations have also experienced recent
growth. At the company’s headquarters in Plano, Texas, additional
office space opened in 2016 to accommodate growing staff numbers,
and Tyler is in the process of building an additional 94,500 square
feet of space for the ERP & Schools Division headquarters in
Yarmouth, Maine, expected to be completed by November 2017.
