Deutsche B�rse (FWB:DB1) (GER:DB1) has published its first Corporate Responsibility Report, presenting its initiatives for the concluded financial year 2008. Corporate Responsibility has been bundled and significantly expanded across the group, particularly in the last two years. CommunityDeutsche B�rse Group supports select initiatives benefiting the community, focusing on culture, education and science as well as social affairs.

Deutsche B�rse Group actively promotes culture, supporting various institutions and projects involved with fine art and music. The focal point of the arts commitment is promoting contemporary photography. The company began with its own photographic art collection, the Art Collection Deutsche B�rse, which has been growing steadily for ten years. In this area, Deutsche B�rse promotes exhibition projects and the development of young photographic artists.

Deutsche B�rse Group�s investment in education and science is also an investment in the future of the society. Based on the life-long learning concept, Deutsche B�rse promotes innovative education and science projects from elementary school and scholarship programs for students to research projects focusing on financial and capital markets.

It also provides targeted support to social organizations and aid projects which reflects the firm belief that such a valuable contribution is an essential supplement to the state welfare system. Support is provided either in the form of traditional donations or, increasingly, through the active commitment of Deutsche B�rse Group employees who offer their time and/or expertise at the various group locations.

EnvironmentAs a global financial services provider, Deutsche B�rse feels that even as a nonmanufacturing company it is responsible for operating sustainably and with consideration for the environment. Therefore, Deutsche B�rse not only advocates its own form of corporate environmental protection but also an ecological trading venue. Cooperation with the European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) enables trading with emission certificates. The new Deutsche B�rse building planned for Eschborn will set standards: It will be one of Germany�s most energy-efficient and eco-friendly edifices.
