Todd Brownrout Named Los Angeles Times Senior Vice President,
Advertising LOS ANGELES, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Todd B. Brownrout
has been named senior vice president of advertising at the Los
Angeles Times, responsible for all retail, national and classified
advertising including Recycler Classifieds. In addition, he will be
responsible for advertising marketing and advertising operations.
Brownrout had served as senior vice president, sales and marketing
for Philadelphia Newspapers, Inc. since 1999. Brownrout will report
to Jeffrey M. Johnson, senior vice president and general manager of
The Times, effective Nov. 8. He succeeds Ray McCutcheon who was
named vice president of advertising for Newsday. "Todd is a
seasoned advertising veteran with considerable experience in all
aspects of advertising and marketing," said Johnson. "He brings
tremendous experience and talents in leading our sales and

that help grow their business." At Philadelphia Newspapers, Inc., a
Knight-Ridder company, Brownrout oversaw advertising and marketing
for its two daily newspapers, The Philadelphia (Pa.) Inquirer and
The Philadelphia (Pa.) Daily News, and also was responsible for
operations at its community newspapers and magazines. He earlier
served as vice president of advertising and director of retail
advertising. Before joining Philadelphia Newspapers in 1994, he
spent almost four years at the Post-Tribune in Gary, Ind., serving
first as advertising director and then as vice president of sales
and marketing. From 1990-1991, he was advertising director at the
Boca Raton (Fla.) News. He joined the Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader
in 1988 as a management trainee and, one year later, was named
assistant to the advertising director. Prior to that, he was an
account executive at Syracuse Newspapers in New York. A native of
New York, Brownrout earned a B.A. degree in English from Hobart
College in Geneva, NY, and an M.B.A. degree from the University of
North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He currently is a member of the
board of directors of the Arts & Business Council of
Philadelphia. The Los Angeles Times, a Tribune Publishing company,
