BUDAPEST--Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Nyrt. (MOL.BU)
launched Monday proprietary trade mark mobile phone services, fully
relying on the network of Hungary's largest telecommunications
company by market share Magyar Telekom Nyrt. (MTELEKOM.BU), MOL
said.
Germany's Deutsche Telekom AG (DTE.XE) holds a majority stake in
Magyar Telekom.
MAIN FACTS:
- This step is part of MOL's strategy to expand services at its
filling stations.
- Charges by the minute and text message fees both cost
uniformly 40 forints ($0.18) to clients not holding Multipont
membership or not taking advantage of their top-up discounts.
- Loyal customers may fill up their pre-paid balances by
combining forint and Multipont payments, what is more they are
given warranted top-up discounts in this case. This way the lowest
rate may total HUF28 per minute when calculated for the pay-as-you
go minutes, provided the total amount of the top-up was used for
voice services.
