                            Year end Trading Update

In line with market best practise this update is published at the end of
Alphameric plc's ("Alphameric's") year to 30 November 2003 and ahead of its
preliminary results, due to be published on 10 February 2003.

The Board is pleased to announce that it expects Alphameric's results to be in
line with current market expectations. The Group remains financially robust with
continuing strong cash flows, ending the year with cash balances of over #10
million, after the net outflow of cash related to the acquisition of Compass
Software and the Group's investment in Fixed Odds Betting terminals.

Retail

Trading in our Retail Division in the second half improved against the first
half, when retailers deferred expenditure in the light of their uncertain
trading environment. Interest in the Group's recently introduced RetailAgility
suite of software (previously named Darwin) is encouraging; the full product
suite has been rolled out at Dunelm and one or more elements at a large number
of other customers. The final two months of the year in particular saw a good
level of order intake. Compass Software, acquired in August, traded in line with
expectation and is poised to contribute significantly to the Division's
performance in the future.

Retail Betting

Our Retail Betting Division had a busy and successful second half, building on
its good performance in the first six months. We continued to role out EPOS, bet
capture and display systems to a range of bookmakers, including a number in
Ireland, and expanded our bureau service. At the year-end we have an installed
base of over 950 Fixed Odds Betting terminals; recent government guidance on
their use in Licensed betting Offices is encouraging. We made further good
progress towards our strategic aim of smoothing the Division's revenue and
profit streams by increasing the volume and value of its repetitive revenue
business.

Hospitality

Alphameric's Hospitality Division also performed well. Caterwide, the web based
ERP system, continued to be successful and the Division won a number of new
orders during the year, the most significant from The Deep Pan Pizza Company, JW
Lees and Noble House. As with Retail Betting, this Division is increasingly
moving towards higher quality, repetitive revenues which support smoother and
more secure future revenue and profit streams.
