Resignation of Nominated Adviser and Broker

Further to the announcement dated 28 April 2003 by Rosneft Investments Limited
declaring the recommended cash offer by Hoare Govett Limited on behalf of
Rosneft Investments Limited for Anglo Siberian Oil Company plc to be
unconditional in all respects, Grant Thornton and Charles Stanley announce their
resignation as nominated adviser and broker respectively to Anglo Siberian Oil
Company plc with immediate effect.
