                     Board Changes and Restructuring Update


Further to the announcement of 9 December 2003, NMT today provides an update on
progress with restructuring the Company.


As announced in December, the Company's production facility in Livingston,
Scotland has ceased to operate with the loss of approximately 140 jobs.  The
remaining staff will form the core of a Development and Licensing Company with
the brief to optimise the intellectual property surrounding 2nd Generation
syringe technology and a range of safe needle pre-fill solutions for the
pharmaceutical industry.


Reflecting the reduced size and different nature of the Company, the following
Board changes will be made.  Dr. Roger Gilmour, Non-executive Chairman, and Lady
Balfour of Burleigh Non-executive Director have both resigned today from the
Board of the Company. Tony Fletcher will undertake the role of Non-executive
Chairman with immediate effect, and Laurie Rostron will remain as a
Non-executive Director.


Roy Smith, Chief Executive Officer, will remain with the Company until the new
organisation is fully operational and a suitable handover is completed.
Additionally, Gerard Cassels, Group Finance Director, will remain with the
Company until the administrative duties surrounding the closure of the
Livingston facility are completed.


Commenting on the above, Tony Fletcher, Chairman stated: "Our immediate
objective is to re-size the organisation and cost structure of the business
appropriate to the future planned development and licensing activities.


"We continue to believe that our intellectual property platform remains strong,
and are in discussions with several companies on the commercialisation of our
technology.  We will continue to keep all future options for the business under
review.


"I would like to express my appreciation for the contribution that Dr. Gilmour
and Lady Balfour of Burleigh have made in guiding the Company over the past six
years."
