Dow Jones News
Tamburi Investment Partners SpA (TIP.MI) is not interested in
joining other investors in trying to prevent Groupe Lactalis from
taking control of Parmalat SpA (PLT.MI), according to a person
familiar with the situation, Monday.
Tamburi is not interested because an investment in Parmalat
would not fit its strategy of investing in small- and medium-sized
businesses, the person told MF-Dow Jones on condition of
anonymity.
Lactalis, a French dairy group, has bought 29% of Parmalat,
giving it influence over the selection of a new board and
management.
Italian business and political leaders are trying to form a
group of investors that could rival Lactalis as a shareholder.
