Domtar announces changes to its operational structure

appointment of Richard Garneau to the position of Executive Vice-
President, Operations, effective immediately. Reporting to Raymond
Royer, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Garneau will be
responsible for the papers, pulp, and wood sectors. He will also
have the task to review the Corporation's operational structure and
processes as well as to conduct an aggressive review of the
activities so as to implement targeted cost-cutting measures
company-wide before year-end. "The current business context and

Corporation, as demonstrated by our third quarter financial
results. This pressure will continue to be felt in terms of
production and distribution costs, especially when amplified by a
