Coastal Energy Company (the "Company" or "Coastal") (TSX-V: CEN) (AIM: CEO) announces that the Company's largest shareholder, Oscar S. Wyatt, Jr., and a director of the Company, Forrest E. Wylie, have closed the previously announced underwritten, secondary offering of 4,000,000 common shares of the Company at a price of C$7.10 per share (the "Offering"). The Offering was led by Macquarie Capital Markets Canada Ltd. and included Paradigm Capital Inc. Coastal did not receive any of the proceeds of the Offering.

After giving effect to this Offering, Mr. Wyatt holds 30,169,580 common shares, or 27.0%, of the Company's common shares and Mr. Wylie holds 600,000, or 0.5%, of the Company's common shares.
