LOUISVILLE, Ky., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Humana Military Healthcare
Services, Inc. (HMHS), the Department of Defense's (DoD) TRICARE
South Region managed health care support contractor is celebrating
its diamond anniversary - ten continuous years of serving military
beneficiaries under DoD TRICARE contracts. Established in 1993,
HMHS was awarded its first TRICARE contract in late 1995 and began
supporting the military community on July 1, 1996. "As a life-long
beneficiary of the military health system, I am very proud of our
team's proven success over the years," said Dave Baker, president
and CEO of the company. "Humana Military associates are extremely
dedicated to providing access to affordable, high quality health
care services to our deserving men and women in uniform, their
families and to those who have served before. With ten years of a
proven track record behind us, we look forward to helping the
Department of Defense sustain this wonderful benefit for years to
come." HMHS' first contract covered 1.8 million military
beneficiaries in the Southeast and Gulf Coast areas of the United
States. In 2001, HMHS nearly doubled its responsibility by
acquiring an additional TRICARE contract for services in the

nearly 2.8 million lives in ten states across the southern United
States. The company also administers a separate contract for active
