Solid State Awarded BAE Systems Contract

Solid State PLC said Thursday that it has been awarded a
contract by BAE Systems PLC for an undisclosed amount.
The London-listed electronics manufacturer and distributor said
that under the contract, Steatite Ltd.--its manufacturing
division--will design, develop and qualify computer consoles for
BAE's maritime platforms.
The company said the project will be led from its site in
Redditch, England.
Shares at 0814 GMT were up 90 pence, or 8%, at 1,220 pence.
